Blockbuster bounces back after Apple slap
January 16, 2008

OK, while I still believe that both Fox's iTunes Digital Copy and the 30 day waiting period for new release rentals on iTunes are signs that studios are protecting the packaged media business and good for retailers, it wasn't all win-win-win for retail yesterday.
On the heels of Apple's rental announcment, Blockbuster's stock took a beating, dropping about 17% to a new low of $2.66. It has rebounded  today, however,  back up to $3.24 at present, after a JP Morgan analyst brushed off any iTunes impact on Blockbuster, at least this year.
