The Black Donnellys DVD
June 25, 2007

This show came and went on NBC, but it got a lot of buzz and critical acclaim when it debuted. The Black Donnellys, about four Irish brothers involved in New York's organized crime, sounds like a green Sopranos, and critics loved that it was created by Paul Haggis, the writer of Oscar winner Crash.

I didn't see The Black Donnellys when it aired -- apart I was one of many -- but everyone will get a chance to try it out on Sept. 4 (prebook July 31) when Universal delivers the complete series to DVD, priced at $49.98. Extras include deleted scenes.
