I'm Not There DVD
March 11, 2008
Cate Blanchett's Oscar-nominated role in I'm Not There will be on disc on May 6 (prebook March 25). She didn't take home the Oscar, but she did win a Golden Globe for the same role.
The movie, about Bob Dylan, also won three awards at the Venice Film Festival last year, including the special jury prize and best actress for Blanchett. Are you getting the feeling this must be a pretty good performance?
I'm Not There has grossed $4 million in limited release. In addition to Blanchett, who plays Dylan, the character is also portrayed in the movie by Christian Bale, Richard Gere, Ben Whishaw, Marcus Carl Franklin and the late Heath Ledger. So there's lots to promote. Plus Julianne Moore and Michelle Williams also star.
The extras on the DVD ($28.95) include commentary, a making-of featurette, a featurette on the premiere, Subterranean Homesick Blues music video, audition tapes for Whishaw and Franklin, gag reel, conversation with the director, making-of the soundtrack featurette, on-screen lyric stream (cool), dylan filmography and discography and a New York Times article.
It's being released by Weinstein/Genius.
