The Other Boleyn Girl DVD, Blu-ray
April 21, 2008
King Henry VIII is hot, apparently.
Riding the coattails of Showtime's The Tudors (very entertaining, by the way), Sony delivers The Other Boleyn Girl, starring Natalie Portman as Anne Boleyn and Scarlett Johansson as sister Mary, forming a love triangle with Eric Bana as the good ole king.
The movie grossed $26.6 million in theaters and is set for release on DVD and Blu-ray on June 10 (prebook May 8), priced at $28.96 and $38.96, respectively.
Although The Other Boleyn Girl didn't break any records in theaters, it has strong names. Here's what Variety said about the movie: "a sexy, good-looking political bodice-ripper with an almost flawless cast at the top of its game."
Here are the extras on both:
· Deleted & Extended Scenes
· “To Be a Lady”: Featurette on the life of a lady and court etiquette in the 16th Century England
· “Translating History to the Screen”: Featurette on how filmmakers brought the best-selling book to life
· Members of the Court Biographies – Go in-depth and explore the real lives of Anne Boleyn, King Henry VIII and others
· Camera Tests with Narration by director Justin Chadwick
And Blu-ray adds "Inside the Court", a "picture-in-graphics" track with trivia.
The BBC's version, also based on the novel by Philippa Gregory, should be coming out in December.
