'Pepper' released for Rock Band
November 19, 2009
"Twenty years ago today" is now more than 42 years old, but who's counting when there are videogames to push.
The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is being released this week in downloadable form for use in The Beatles: Rock Band videogame, making the 1967 classic the second Fab Four album to be downloadable for the game title.
The digital version of the entire album may be purchased for $13.49, with single songs available on the Rock Band store for $2 each, Viacom's MTV Games and Harmonix units and Beatles publisher Apple Corps Ltd. said in a statement last week.
The downloadable version of 1969's Abbey Road was made available for the game last month, while 1965's Rubber Soul will start being sold in December.
No word on whether extra points will be given for figuring out how to play the sitar part on "Within You Without You".
