Best Buy Online pricing probed
March 7, 2007

Best Buy is under investigation by the Connecticut Attorney General for allegedly denying consumers prices advertised on the retailer's web site in Best Buy stores. Best Buy is said to have operated two different web sites, both of which looked the same, but had different prices advertised for products. About 20 Connecticut residents have complained that they went in to stores to buy a product at a price advertised on the web only to be told it was a higher price. Customers say Best Buy employees looked up the price on the Internet, but used an internal Intranet site that had higher prices than those advertised to the public.
