Blu-ray, DVD on Blockbuster's gift list
PHYSICAL: Retailer also lists Twilight merchandise as hottest holiday items

NOV. 20 | PHYSICAL: Blockbuster has singled out Blu-ray players, DVD releases and Twilight merchandise, among other items as its hottest holiday gifts.
During the Black Friday weekend, Blockbuster will roll out a $149 bundle offer for Samsung’s BD-P1600 Blu-ray player. With purchase of the model, marked $50 off original pricing, consumers will get one free in-store rental, one free rental from a Blockbuster vending kiosk and half off one Blockbuster On Demand digital rental.
Also highlighted are $14 fourth-quarter DVD releases, including Four Christmases out Nov. 24; Terminator: Salvation, Dec.1; Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Dec. 8; and The Hangover, Dec. 15.
Consumers also will be offered a $20 Blockbuster gift card with purchase of a TiVo digital video recorder, with models priced at $149.99 and $249.99. Blockbuster’s On Demand service can be accessed through TiVo machines.
A wide range of merchandise tied to Summit Entertainment's latest Twilight theatrical movie New Moon will be available, including pillows, posters and tote bags. A Twilight version of DVD game Scene It? will be available for $29.99.
Other top gifts at Blockbuster include a $99.99 Viore portable TV, $89.99 Norwood portable DVD player and $39.99 Sony DVD player.
Meanwhile, Amazon.com has announced that it will start its Black Friday deals on Monday, Nov. 23. Customers can access the latest promotions, as well as sign up to receive frequent sales tweets, at Amazon.com/BlackFriday.
