> Eloquent and moving doc about America’s quest to put man on the moon.
Engrossing and exhilarating, this marvelous documentary chronicles America’s quest to put men on the moon. In the Shadow combines extensive NASA film footage (much of it previously unseen by the public) and interviews with surviving astronauts who participated in the space program, including Jim Lovell, Dave Scott, John Young, Gene Cernan and Buzz Aldrin. Their contributions bring warmth and humor to what can certainly be considered an epic story, and one that’s well documented by filmmaker David Sington.
Shelf Talk: A critical darling that won audience-favorite awards at the Sundance, Florida and Boulder International film festivals, Shadow also has garnered uniformly favorable reviews. ThinkFilm is backing this movie’s release with extensive national TV advertising during the week Shadow streets, and the company is targeting space, science and entertainment Web sites as well as radio stations in the Top 20 markets. Astronauts featured in the film are scheduled to make appearances on various cable-news programs. The consumer-awareness level should be high.
