A trio of high school misfits discovers the secrets of time travel in this affable teen comedy that premiered on the Disney Channel in January. Jason Dolley of Cory in the House stars as the lead misfit, who decides that the group should use their newfound skill to take small trips back in time to prevent embarrassing events from befalling bullied geeks in their school. Teens probably won’t be caught dead watching this oh-so-adorable depiction of their age group, but Minutemen has all the requisite sweetness to ensnare younger viewers.
Shelf Talk: The Disney Channel franchise is one of the strongest for kid viewers, and Minutemen can surely bask in the reflected glory of the High School Musical series. Dolley will be instantly recognizable to Disney Channel viewers, as his show, Cory, currently airs in a prime slot (Saturday nights at 8 p.m.).
