JUNE 23 | HOME MEDIA EXPO: Echo Bridge Home Entertainment is bringing comedian Jamie Kennedy to EMA’s Home Media Expo to host the annual Home Entertainment Awards.
Kennedy produced Heckler, EBHE’s Sept. 9 DVD release about the changing nature of criticism in our society. The humorous documentary stars Kennedy and includes appearances by Lewis Black, Jon Lovitz, Craig Ferguson, Bill Maher and others.
In the film, Kennedy tours clubs and college campuses to chronicle encounters with hecklers and critics. He gets comments from luminaries such as George Lucas and confronts critics themselves.
So why do people heckle? “Because they’re drunk; they want to be part of the show. And other times because they really want to help, and other times they just want attention for themselves,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy said he will make retail appearances to promote the film and will promote it on late-night TV talk shows.
He’s hoping to avoid hecklers himself when he hosts EMA’s Home Entertainment Awards on Tuesday night. Kennedy also will participate in a Home Theater Forum briefing on Wednesday.
