INDIE FILM GUIDE: Infinity releases Emmy-winning Smithsonian programming

NOV. 17 | INDIE FILM GUIDE: Smithsonian, the youngest network ever to win an Emmy Award, also has been amassing other awards for its programs, which are being released on DVD through Infinity Entertainment Group.
Smithsonian's Nature Tech (above) received an Emmy in addition to other awards.
The Smithsonian Networks DVD Collection debuted in September with titles including Stories From the Vaults: Season One, which received a Gold Parent’s Choice Foundation Award, a Cine Golden Eagle Award and a Gold Medal from New York Festivals.
Nature Tech explores “biomimetics,” the science of looking to nature for answers to modern problems. It will be released Jan. 13 (prebook Dec. 9; DVD $24.98).
Coming later from Smithsonian and Infinity will be Critter Quest! (street Feb. 2, prebook Dec. 29; DVD $14.98), a look at backyard animals, which won a Cine Golden Eagle Award, a Silver Parent’s Choice Foundation Award and Best Children’s Programming from the National Wildlife Foundation and American Conservation Film Festival.
