Bruno DVD, Blu-ray
September 15, 2009
Definitely one of the most talked about movies of the year -- for better or worse -- Bruno will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on Nov. 17 (prebook Sept. 29) from Universal. The discs will be priced at $29.98 and $39.98, respectively.
Sacha Baron Cohen's highly anticipated follow-up to his surprise sensation Borat failed to live up to the earlier film's success but still scored a decent box office gross. Borat grossed $128.5 million in 2007, but this year's Bruno, also based on one of Cohen's comedy characters from his Ali G TV show, grossed $60 million.
Bruno also opened to not as favorable reviews as Borat, which had a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer, compared to 68% for Bruno.
Blu-ray will include a digital copy, but Universal hasn't listed any bonus features for either format as yet.
Perhaps they think Cohen's privates in crystal clear high-definition is enough.
