Lions for Lambs DVD
January 29, 2008
With all eyes on the presidential hopeful campaigns, MGM/Fox will release the political thriller Lions For Lambs on April 8 (prebook March 12) priced at $29.98 on DVD.
No Blu-ray version has been announced so far, but despite starring Tom Cruise -- or maybe because of it -- the movie grossed only $14.9 million in theaters.
Critics didn't have much love for the movie; it got a measly 27% on the critics Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes. But given the political nature of the movie, it could find a bigger audience on DVD.
Here's the press release synopsis:
An idealistic professor (Redford) in California attempts to inspire a student to do more with his life, while a charismatic Senator (Cruise) in Washington D.C. pitches a new Middle East war strategy to a probing TV journalist (Streep). And halfway across the world, two of the professor’s former students are trapped behind enemy lines in Afghanistan, fighting for freedom—and their very lives. As the tension mounts and the bullets fly, these Americans will change each other’s lives and the world in ways they never could have imagined.
And the disc comes with three featurettes: "The Making Of Lions For Lambs," "Script to Screen" and "United Artists Legacy."
