Dante's Inferno: An Animated Inferno Gets Ready To Burn
December 10, 2009
Audiences will get an opportunity to go to Hell on Feb. 9 (prebook Jan. 6) when Anchor Bay releases the animated feature Dante’s Inferno: An Animated Epic on DVD and Blu-ray. The release is a collaboration between the label and game manufacturer Electronic Arts, which will issue its Dante’s Inferno videogame day-and-date with the animated film.
With the animation work handled by Film Roman, the studio behind such films as Dead Space: Downfall and Hellboy Animated, Dante’s Inferno: An Animated Epic, based upon Dante Alighieri’s 14th Century epic poem, takes viewers along a journey with the warrior Dante and his spectral guide Virgil as they traverse the nine circles of Hell--Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Anger, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery--in search of his one true love, Beatrice. Voicework in the feature is contributed by Mark Hamill, Victoria Tennant, Vanessa Branch and Graham McTavish as Dante.
Available with six limited edition customized covers created by the six animation studios participating in the production, the DVD will be priced at $26.97 and Blu-ray will carry a $34.98 price tag.
