Battle for Terra DVD, Blu-ray

Lionsgate's animated sci-fi adventure didn't get much attention at the box office, even getting a release in a 3D version. In a quick theatrical run, Battle for Terra grossed only $1.6 million.
However, the movie's voice cast is filled with well known names, including: Luke Wilson, Dennis Quaid, Evan Rachel Wood, Danny Glover, James Garner, Beverly D'Angelo, Justin Long, Amanda Peet, Ron Perlman, and the list goes on.
The award-winning film about a group of people who, after Earth is destroyed, find a new home on the beautiful planet Terra then must defend it, will arrive on DVD ($19.98) and Blu-ray ($29.99) on Sept. 22 (prebook Aug. 26). Even though the movie was released in theaters in 3D, it won't be coming home in 3D, Lionsgate told Video Business.
The special features on both the DVD and Blu-ray will include:
- "The Making of Battle for Terra" featurette
- commentary with director Aristomenis Tsirbas
- original short film "Terra"
- deleted scenes
- storyboards
