Superbad DVD, Blu-ray, PSPOctober 8, 2007Sony has set $118 million-grossing Superbad, from the same filmmakers behind DVD chart topper Knocked Up, for release on DVD and Blu-ray on Dec. 4 (prebook Nov. 1). The comedy, about two teens trying to lose their virginity before heading off to college, doesn't have much in the way of big stars (check out IMDb's list), but lots of buzz gave the film a kick-start at the box office. Superbad will be released in unrated and the theatrical R-rated versions in a single-DVD priced at $28.95; as an unrated two-disc set priced at $34.95; as a two-disc Blu-ray set for $43.95; and for the PSP priced at $24.94. Here's the special features list for the two-disc DVD and Blu-ray:
The Blu-ray has "The Superbad Supermeter," allowing viewers to keep tally of the lewd and crude lingo in the film. PLUS: Along those same lines, Vivendi Visual will release sexy comedy Cougar Club on Nov. 13 (prebook Oct. 16). The DVD premiere movie, starring Jason Jurman and Warren Kole as young men who start a club devoted to sexy older women, will be accompanied by topless menus on DVD, priced at $26.99 for the R-rated or unrated versions.
