New VeggieTales movie based on Pinocchio

November 30, 2009

Big Idea has turned to classic fairy tales for its next VeggieTales movie. VeggieTales: Pistachio—The Little Boy That Woodn't! tells the story of Pinocchio with a veggie twist.

The movie will debut in the Christian retail market (DVD $14.99) on Feb. 27 (prebook Feb. 12) and to the general market (DVD $14.93) on March 2 (prebook Feb. 2).

Long-time promotional partner Chick-fil-A will feature Pistachio at their more than 1,200 locations, including $2 coupons for the DVD, and 500 restaurants will hold DVD release parties. Chuck E. Cheese, Gymboree and Crazy 8 locations will play the music video for the movie's song "Where Have All the Staplers Gone" in stores. Plus, Big Idea will host more than 1,500 Family Fun Nights at churches nationwide where Pistachio screenings will be held.

Mott's and Duracell Batteries also are promotional partners for the movie, which teaches children about the importance of listening to parents.
