Apple Ships 300,000 Apple TV Units
June 14, 2007

Envisioneering Group estimates that Apple has shipped around 300,000 Apple TV units (or "1/3 of a million")  since its March launch, Envisioneering analyst Richard Doherty said Wednesday during a set-top box panel he was moderating at Digital Hollywood. Doherty didn't say how many had sold through but said the shipment numbers contradict recent news reports.

Various news reports have quoted retailers saying that sales of the units have been slow and have fallen short of predictions.

Apple hasn't disclosed how many of the $299 units it shipped or any sales numbers. Research firm iSuppli has predicted that the company would ship 1 million units of the set-top box during 2007.

I see some talk from analysts and news stories that sales are nowhere near iPod territory, but can't seem to quickly find any numbers on iPod sales or shipments at launch. Anyone know?
