Internet TV
April 23, 2008

After having two months of problems with Comcast cable and almost canceling it in favor of just downloading the shows we want to watch from Amazon Unbox to our TiVo -- we  have kept Comcast for now because we're getting a good package deal on Internet and phone too, but when that goes away... -- I can see that Internet TV really could be the way of the future.

The technology -- and studio support -- isn't quite there yet, however, at least if consumers want their content for free, as The San Francisco Chronicle's Tim Goodman says in an article featured on VB sister publication ContentAgenda.

Goodman gives the good, bad and ugly of what's available for free online, with new Hulu.com topping the options.

On pay sites, however, the pickings are better. And if you, like me, look forward to the day your cable company goes the way of Pan Am, getting TV from online might be closer than we think.
