NBC shows for free
September 19, 2007

NBC is offering full episodes of its hit shows, including Friday Night Lights, 30 Rock, Heroes and Late Night With Conan O'Brien for free on its Web site. Viewers just need to sit through a 30-second commercial while the episode is buffered. And this is a stream, not a download.

According to PC World, NBC started testing the service in October.

You can also download episodes to your computer with NBC's Universal VIP Access.

NBC shows also are available through Amazon Unbox after talks between NBC Universal and Apple iTunes broke down. (Although, strangely enough, NBC is still advertising on its site that shows are available for purchase on iTunes.)

What will all this exposure do for DVD sales? That's the million dollar question.
