Laid To Rest With Bobbi Sue Luther, Pt. II
|
VB: Not that that hasn’t helped. At one point, weren’t you a St. Pauli Girl beer model?
Bobbi Sue: I was, in 2007. They always try to go with somebody with a bit of a fanbase already—Playmates, Maxim models and actresses. It’s a pretty sizable contract, so they want to go with somebody who has a little heat behind them so that they can possibly ride the wave with their product.
VB: Surely that kind of popularity didn’t hurt when it came to you wanting to make your own movies?
Bobbi Sue: I have to be honest—I moved out here to be a star but I very quickly learned that it was what I loved. I really loved to entertain and I really love acting. In a perfect world, I would only do indies. But when somebody approaches you to be a face on a product and pays you a lot of money to do it, well, you should consider it. I definitely didn’t move out here to eat Ramen noodles. So you make some of your decisions based on financial prosperity. And, yes, there are things that you have deal with and cope with on the back end of doing a high-profile job like that. The sexy girl thing can trap you in a corner where people won’t take you seriously, but I’m handling it. Time will tell.
