Terminator Salvation: Too Hot for Blu-ray

August 27, 2009 It looks like the Blu-ray version of Terminator Salvation has been deemed too racy and violent for its theatrical PG-13 rating. Word is that the Motion Pictures Association of America is listing the Blu-ray cut as 'R.' Thanks to Blu-ray.com for pointing this out.
Apparently, Blu-ray version represents the original intentions of Terminator Salvation director McG. But he made some changes to the theatrical version in order to score the more broadly appealing PG-13.
Retailers expect Terminator Salvation to street on DVD/Blu-ray in December.
I say that a uniquely rated version of Blu-ray is a great thing for the format. This will help the title stand out on shelves from the standard DVD version of Terminator Salvation. Fans are likely going to want to buy the version that the director wanted in the first place.
