Wal-Mart 2nd-Gen Blow-out
October 25, 2007

High-def fans are salivating over what looks to be a hot sale at Wal-Mart on Toshiba second generation players. Originally priced at $299, the Toshiba HD-A2 is getting offered for $198 at various Wal-Marts. Here is one picture of the price-slashed players on display. Numerous AVS Forum posters also swear to seeing $198 HD-A2 product at Wal-Mart. Toshiba likely hopes to soon sell out its inventory of this discontinued line, as it is already pushing its third generation models at retail. Toshiba's entry level third gen player is back at the $299 price point. But I wouldn't worry if you miss out on the sale. That $199 Venturer HD DVD player is supposed to be hitting shelves soon.
