In this role, Gordon will focus on acquiring direct-to-DVD titles for the Weinstein library, working closely with TWC executive VPs of acquisitions Michelle Krumm and Maeva Gatineau.
Gordon also will work closely with Trevor Drinkwater, CEO of TWC disc distributor Genius Products, in managing such DVD labels as Dragon Dynasty.
Most recently, Gordon served as senior VP of worldwide programming at Image. During his seven-year stint at Image, Gordon helped launch several niche categories, including stand-up comedy specials, urban, Latin and special interest.
Gordon will report to TWC co-chairmen Bob Weinstein and Harvey Weinstein.
“We are confident that Barry’s experience and success at Image in building up categories of programming will benefit both TWC and Genius and allow us to maximize our product in the marketplace,” said the Weinsteins in a joint statement.
Gordon added, “With an unparalleled track record spanning over 30 years, Bob and Harvey Weinstein have proven time and again that quality, passion and the desire to be the best are what matters most in this industry.”
Prior to Image, Gordon worked at STV Communications and BMG Distribution.
