Miley Cyrus, who plays “Hannah Montana” in the Disney TV series, performed a free concert at Hollywood & Highland June 26 to celebrate Buena Vista’s Hannah Montana: Pop Star Profile DVD.

JUNE 20 | Worldwide distributor VDI Entertainment has launched U.S. label Medialink Entertainment.
VDI’s library includes titles acquired from financially troubled Ventura Distribution, which has since folded into First Look Home Entertainment.
Medialink was formed to help rerelease the Ventura catalog as well as deliver new acquisitions into the U.S. marketplace.
Principal executives at VDI include Craig Sussman, Chris Lynch and Bill Ott. Lynch and Sussman were colleagues at Ventura Distribution, as senior VP and executive VP, respectively.
Planned Medialink releases include Kids In the Hall: The Pilot Episode—Special Headcrusher Edition, Diana: An Intimate Portrait and titles from motorcycle touring company Crusty Demons. Street dates and pricing have not yet been set.
Koch Entertainment will help VDI with servicing Medialink titles to retail.
Don Spielvogel has been named VP of sales at Medialink, and former Ventura marketing executives Victoria Sarro and Brandon Wong have taken on similar responsibilities at the new label. Michelle Ferrell has been named director of creative marketing and production services.
“Medialink is a niche category and special interest publisher that focuses on brand development and the strategic marketing of products for both mainstream and non-traditional retail customers,” said Lynch. “Our mission is to find unique properties with clearly identifiable audiences and offer them robust, high quality DVD products that deliver and are responsive to the needs of even the most discriminating special interest fan groups.”
