NOV. 3 | Several retail ventures owned by Infinity Resources will try to jump-start holiday sales in the midst of the country’s financial crisis by offering 25% off DVD and Blu-ray Discs Nov. 7 to Nov. 23.
Infinity, which also has a proprietary DVD label, is the parent company of catalog and Web retailer Critics’ Choice Video, Internet retailer DeepDiscount.com, bricks-and-mortar and Web retailer DVD Planet and Video Collection, an eclectic catalog with a companion Web site.
The retailers offer holiday promotions every year, but this year’s across-the-board effort is an increase over past promotions.
“We hope that the additional savings, combined with free shipping at our DeepDiscount.com Web site, will help customers with their holiday shopping during our country’s current economic slump,” said David Barker, VP of e-commerce marketing for Infinity.
The promotion will be advertised in USA Today and on radio networks ESPN, Fox Sports, XM and Sirius, as well as through online search engines including Yahoo, AOL and MSN and on coupon and shopping Web sites. A direct-to-consumer e-mail campaign also will be included.
Consumers will need to give a password to get the discount. The discount will apply to any DVD or Blu-ray title except pre-orders.
