The Hurt Locker DVD, Blu-ray
November 3, 2009
Indie studio Summit, the home of the Twilight movie franchise, is bringing the critically acclaimed war film The Hurt Locker to DVD and Blu-ray on Jan. 12 (prebook Nov. 24).
Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, The Hurt Locker stars Ralph Fiennes, Guy Pearce, David Morse and Lost's Evangeline Lilly looks at the Iraq war from the point of view of an elite bomb squad trying to survive Baghdad's combat zone.
It has impressive reviews, with the Washington Post saying the film is "about Iraq in the way that Full Metal Jacket is about Vietnam and Paths of Glory is about World War II. It is a great movie, period." High praise. The New York Times called it an "adrenaline soaked tour-de force of suspense and surprise."
On disc, the movie will be priced at $26.99 on DVD and $34.99 on Blu-ray.
Special features on the releases include commentary with Bigelow and writer Mark Boal, a behind-the-scenes featurette and an image gallery with the option to play a Q&A from London in the background.
