UPDATE: 17 Again, Observe and Report release dates
June 9, 2009
Does Amazon know something we don't know? Looks like Amazon was guessing or given preliminary dates that were wrong. Warner gave us the official announce for 17 Again, and the movie will be on DVD and Blu-ray on Aug. 11 (prebook July 7).
The retailer says Warner's 17 Again and Observe and Report will be available on Amazon Video On Demand starting July 21. We don't have the official announcement for Observe and Report yet, but a click on Amazon's VOD offer and the date has changed to Sept. 15. Amazon has the Aug. 11 date for 17 Again on VOD now. Check out Amazon's VOD preorder offer for Observe and Report and 17 Again.
Both movies bowed in theaters in April, so the end of the July is a possible DVD and Blu-ray street date. But it's already June 9 and Warner hasn't announced these titles for physical release. Any chance they're going to VOD before DVD and Blu-ray?
17 Again, starring Matthew Perry as a dad who turns into Zac Efron when he becomes 17 again, grossed $61 million in theaters.
Observe and Report, a comedy starring Seth Rogen as a mall security guard trying to stop a flasher, grossed $23.8 million.
We'll let you know what we find out. So, here are the DVD and Blu-ray details for 17 Again:
DVD priced at $28.98 and Blu-ray at $35.99.
Digital copy on Blu-ray, which also will be a DVD/Blu-ray combo pack.
The Blu-ray also will include BD Live exclusives, plus commentary by Efron and two featurettes: "Tom Lennon & Melora Hardin" and "Zac Attacks."
