Angel of Death Will Kick Butt on DVD
March 18, 2009
Angel of Death, touted as the most ambitious made-for-Web movie, will launch on DVD by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment later this year.
The project, which bowed exclusively on Crackle.com on March 2, does feature a relatively high-profile cast and crew for a straight-to-Web film. Angel of Death stars Zoe Bell, best known for her daring fight stunt work on many of Quentin Tarantino’s films, such as Death Proof and the Kill Bill series. Xena: Warrior Princess’ Lucy Lawless also is in the movie. It's directed by veteran comic writer Ed Brubaker, whose credits include Captain America and Daredevil.
Sony’s sister TV unit, behind Angel of Death’s production, unspooled the movie in 10 different installments on Crackle.com, running about 10 minutes each.
Angel of Death should morph into a full, approximately 100 minute feature film on DVD. Sony expects to prominently feature Angel of Death at this year’s Comic-Con. Exact street date and pricing haven’t been specified.
The movie revolves around an assassin who suddenly starts to feel guilty about her work.
