Amazon Deals For All
January 14, 2008
You can get some great HD DVD and Blu-ray software deals at Amazon.com, which is almost painfully treating each format equally in recent Web merchandising. After Warner's recent dropping of HD DVD support, many Blu-ray backers have been loudly predicting a HD DVD-waved white flag in the war. But Amazon.com at least doesn't seem to be heeding the BD battle cry, at least at the moment. Take a look at this High Def Deal page. It's pretty much goes Blu, HD, Blu, HD, Blu. I guess you can get nit-picky and say that's three Blu-ray mentions and just two for HD DVD. But I'd argue that the overall look of the page is really even-steven. There are $14.99 title deals each for BD and HD DVD. There's also a sweepstakes to win either a free BD or HD DVD player. I guess it has just been several days since Warner dropped their bomb. So there could be plenty of retail maneuverings to watch out for in the coming weeks.
