How To Basically Get a Free Panasonic BD Player
December 10, 2007

Well, first you need to be in the market for a high-def TV, and specifically, a Panasonic one. But if all that is in order, then you're in luck. Best Buy, among other retailers, is offering a Panasonic TV-BD player bundle, where buyers instantly can shave off $499, exactly equaling the price of Panasonic's latest third gen player. In its latest Dec.9-15 circular, Best Buy is letting shoppers buy either a 42-inch plasma for $1799 or 50-inch plasma for $2799, and when they also purchase Panasonic's DMP-BD30, they'll score the $499 in savings. And like most high-def hardware offerings these days, people will also get 5 free Blu-ray titles by mail.
Panasonic execs have recently said they'll utilize bundling as a specifict merchandising strategy. The company does need to do something to push its players, as until now their earlier models have rarely scored mention in the retail chain circulars. At Best Buy, it's one of the stars this week, as there's even a picture of an employee widely grinning next to the pictured TV/BD player bundle.
