Wonderful! A New Pricey no BD-Live Blu-ray Player
October 7, 2008

Sorry Integtra, but I'm not sure what consumer you're targeting with your new $600 Profile 1.1 Blu-ray player. It's great that another manufacturer is supporting the format. But why debut your first Blu-ray set-top at a price that hundreds more than certain BD-Live models with more capabilities? Just sayin'.
I'll guess that the Integra DBS-6.9 will quickly drop in price as it surveys its competition.
Best Buy's Insignia is now retailing for below $250, and is offering the same picture-in-picture interactivity as the Integra.
Sony's BD-Live ready S350 has been marked down $100 to $299. Even Panasonic's latest, $399 DMP-BD35, looks like a better deal since you will automatically enjoy Web-enabled playback.
