Amazon.com Opens Up Shop with Dark Knight
October 13, 2008
Its Dec. 9 street date is still a ways out, but Amazon.com is already cultivating Dark Knight Blu-ray excitement with its latest boutique. Here you will find long descriptions of every available Dark Knight version, significantly kicking off things by telling you about its Blu-ray features first.
Iron Man is one of Amazon.com's break-out Blu-ray titles, where the version often outsold the standard definition edition, during its first week on release after streeting Sept. 30. With Dark Knight speaking to a similar fan base for high-octane special effects, its smart for Amazon.com to figure the film will be as big, if not bigger, than Iron Man on Blu-ray. Dark Knight did do $526 million at the U.S. box office, to Iron Man's $318 million.
While you're scoping out Dark Knight, Amazon.com also tempts you with a lot of related goodies. There's 10% off when purchasing three animated DC Comics Batman titles. And if you need to brush up on the franchise, there's also Batman Begins on Blu-ray sold individually or as part of a limited edition gift set.
