Make Friends with BD-Live on Facebook
May 11, 2009

The upcoming Watchmen Blu-ray release is expected to be the first title to automatically sync up with viewers' Facebook buddy lists in order to enhance BD-Live community screenings. Here is some speculation of it at Blu-ray.com.
Warner has told me that they'll be releasing an official press release on the new Web-enabled Facebook feature later today.
Studios have offered up live Blu-ray community screenings previously, notably with filmmakers Christopher Nolan and Guillermo del Toro for Warner's Dark Knight and Universal's Hellboy II, respectively. These were popular, but comments could only be read by people that also owned BD-Live players and were participating in the chat.
But Watchmen should mark the first time people can post comments for their Facebook friend network, granting people a wider base than just Blu-ray households to voice their opinion.
